Northants rounds out the year with it's annual awards night for both youth and adult players

After a successful year on and off the field, Northants held its annual awards night to celebrate the achievements of the club and its players

This year's awards was a combined club event with both adults and youth awards taking place together, in contrast to previous years when adults and youth have been separate events. This was widely welcomed by the club members who attended.

The awards night was mainly focussed on the achieved of its players on the fields but, given the success of the year, the committee thought it was prevalent to highlight some of the successes of the club, which include:

  • Increased members by 56% Year to Date and exceeded yearly target growth already
  • Implemented a more structured Youth coaching program
  • Streamlined Club Communications into WhatsApp Community
  • Designed and released a new club Jersey and increased club shop offering
  • Standardized the new club colours (incl Logo) to mark the new era of the club
  • Made connections with the Local Social Club for events and community engagement
  • Secured an annual Winter Training Venue
  • Carried out 2 first pitch sessions with Local schools
  • Adult Team achieved the goal of WINNING THE LEAGUE

The winners of each award are as follows:

YOUTH AWARDS
 
Best New Player – Poppy Hanson

Awarded to the Player who, in their first season, has amazed the team with their commitment to learning and their energy on the field.

 
Player’s Player – Vito Orlando

The award is voted on by the players as to who they believe is their players player.

 
Coach’s Award – Ethan Cooper

Presented to the Player who consistently impresses the Coaches with their attitude and passion to learn.

 
Team Spirit – Teddy Thorne

Awarded to the Player who always has their teammates at the forefront of their mind.  This Player supports their peers to ensure no one is left behind.

 
Most Improved Player – Joseph Frost

Presented to the Player who, throughout the season has improved their skill and performance both on and off the field.

 
Most Valuable Player – Vito Orlando

Awarded to the player who makes a positive impact on the field, and their all-round performance and enthusiasm.

and…….Here are the results of The ADULT AWARDS..

Silver Slugger - Yulyn Helm

This award was stats driven - to qualify, the player had to be available for at least 60% of games during the season and play in at least 50% - Yulyn scored the highest On-base and slugging percentage for the season to win this award!

Play of the Year - Ian Buckley

Nominations were put forward by players for the best play of the year - Bucky was chosen to win by the manager for his outfield catch against Harwich

Golden Glove -

Another stats driven award, this award is given to the player with the highest fielding stats on the season and Buckey scored the highest on the team in this area, mostly for his work in the outfield

Rookie Of The Year - Micky Robson

Players who participated in their first full season were nominated for this award with the winner chosen by the manager for being the most impactful new player

Most Improved Player - Andy Moody

Otherwise known as the “now a little less sh*t award” ?- award by the manager to the player they think made the most improvements throughout the year

Most Valuable Player - Yulyn Helm

Award to the player who had the most overall impact on the games on the field, Chosen by the Manager overall however, nominations by the Opposing teams

Players Player - Yulyn Helm

The award is voted on by the players as to who they believe is their players player.

Presidents Award - Jack Betts

This award is given out by the president for overall outstanding contribution to the club on and/or off the field.
